Faith formation …a simple two words but very difficult to achieve. Today in the midst of science and technology where everyone is mocking people who seem to be religious, the task of faith formation is just next to impossible. The generation has come when many very hardly believe in the existence of God. Evolution theory of Darwin has just almost killed the presence of God in creation. The time when Work is Worship, the time when parents hardly find quality time with their kids, we are asking for family prayers. For many to come to Church is a matter of some forceful ritual, we ask for Catechism.

The journey is difficult, that’s why we catechism teachers have arrived as a prophet. Like Moses who led the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea, we are also leading a generation. We are also maturing the seedling with true values and faith. Definitely at apparent time these seeds will also produce multitude fruits of holy spirit. Everyone in their life encountered a situation where science fails, and God works. The time when the doctor replied, we have done our best rest is in God’s hand. The time when people are expecting good luck, the time when people are at the edge of helplessness, they realize the power of God. It happens with everyone and then…the faith solidified. Countless touch moments of life will establish their Faith and will turn those small seeds to gigantic trees. Let us recollect all courage and take the responsibilities to lead a generation in the path of Saint.

Objective of Catechism Department

Just as parents have the first responsibility of training their children on family, social and national duties, in the same way, the first instructor of the religious life of children is their parents themselves. Parents are the first teachers of their children. There are those who inculcate religious rites in them by their behavior, words and actions and become the guides of their religious life. Family is the first religious training center. What is lacking in this effort of parents, Other religious instructors mean Catechism Teachers fulfill it in the name of parents in the Guidance of Priests.

Order Of Catechism Session

According to the instructions of the Archdiocese of Raipur, the session of Catechism is held every year from first Sunday of January to first Sunday of December. The Annual Exam will be held on first Sunday of December of every year.

Unfortunate Last Year

As it is known that this year and last year, due to the corona epidemic, direct classes are not being held in schools, so for the health and safety of children, direct classes of Catechism were not held in our church, but we have started ONLINE class. It has been kept so that the work of teaching the word of God the Father continues, so every Sunday morning religious teachers conduct online classes from 11 to 12.

ON – LINE Classes

Since no classes are being held in any church of the Archdiocese of Raipur, the Director of the Catechetical Commission of the Archdiocese, Rev. As per the instructions of Fr.John Ponnore, this year through the religious teachers of our church, the children of all the churches of Archdiocese are Raipur taking ON LINE classes.
